I took this with my iPhone last night at the Xmas Event at Hole’s. There aren’t usually lights in the greenhouse–these were strung for the tours– so this is a unique perspective on our Christmas crop.

Sometimes I love my job…

Luck. I has it.

There was never a person born since Adam who’s been luckier than me. Nothing has happened to me that hasn’t been perfect. And I’m not being facetious. There’s never been a time when I was penniless and down, when something wouldn’t arrive. Over and over and over again. Enough to make you superstitious.

From an interview with the Wall Street Journal

This week

  • Zak and Leslie are off to Edinburgh today.
  • We picked out appliances. A nice gas stove from Electrolux with lots of bells and whistles. We are just waiting for final pricing.
  • Tumbled tile for the bathrooms but no glass. Too much $$
  • A short week and I have to find an editor… Blah.
  • I really need to hit the gym
  • Last Day before home

Conference is 50/50 so far. I loved the talk by the SFU boys but felt the audience was more resistant then engaged. Gotta move forward and transfer the knowledgebase.

Dinner was fine and I cornered the associate professor. Leslie, finish your phd and you’ve got a job…

C and I hung and didn’t drink too much. Barely 1 bottle for the whole trip. I like hanging, with or without wine. Sleep is really problematic though. Pattern seems to be deep sleep followed by hours of restlessness. Oh well it’s age I guess.

Home tonight and a busy week likely starts tomorrow.
