Dance dance (in his pants)
Back at the Haar to see Brian Webb dance in Prairie Dance Circuit. First time I’ve seen him dance here in 35 years or so. Hopefully he won’t be naked this time…
It’s 5 short dances from artist across Canada. Brian’s is entitled 30% Gone and it’s about his heart attack last year and about home being 60 now. Which makes me feel pretty damn old too.
Well it’s pretty good stuff and yes, Brian took his clothes off. Some things never change,
Howl at the moon?
Studio Theatre: Yellow Moon…
And I have the new iPhone. Let’s see how the pics go.
Flash off, HDR on…
Not sure what the play is about, buy the set is pretty funky. Tonight is also Wonderland at the Ballet, a dance version of Alice in Wonderland. Akemi and Carmen are there.
Stunning, stunning, stunning. Massive script, convincing delivery, left me awestruck. Literally. I wanted the audience to sit down, shut up
and let me absorb.
Bravo!
Overtired and underdressed
No Doubt
Hickory tickory boom
Azimuth Theatre on 106 street and Rabid Marmot Productions presents tick, tick… BOOM!
A musical by Jonathan Larson.
Fun, fun, fun.
90 minutes no intermission: let the singing begin!
Isshy Wishy Al
The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh at the Timms.
Old home week really, as it has Sandy Nichols whom I worked with in Brooks, Al Gadowsky who is Laura’s son and Glenn Nelson from Rocky Horror and Stage West days. Supposedly a Synge-ish Irish comedy, I have high hopes.
Well so far so good. Dollar for dollar, the Studio season kicks most ‘professional’ theatres’ asses…
Oh Margie!
Margie Gillis Dance at the Arden tonight. Tired, so tired, but the arts must live on…
Tonight, Margie Gillis Dance Foundation presents Thread.
Self-indulgent, simplistic and trite. But at least it’s not “fine for a woman her age.”
Dance, dance, dance
Once again Brian Webb Dance Company presents Wen Wei Dance and Beijing Modern Dance Company. We saw them last year and it was pretty darn good, so I have high hopes for a repeat performance.
The performance is entitled Under the Skin, a little less suggestive than last year’s Cock-Tails.

Very interesting water motif and some gorgeous lighting. And, a dancer with a tattoo; very interesting.
Somebody bring me some H2O
Tonight is Melissa Etheridge and someone Leslie likes called Serena Ryder at the Jube.
Never seen a rock concert at a concert hall before. Hopefully it’ll be better than Hiatt and Los Lobos were at the Winspear.
Well I’ve heard all of Serena’s songs before. Thank god for Leslie and her repeating songs over and over and over :-). Anyway, pretty much a baby Melissa in her hey day. Have to see if she can keep up.
