They show relationships, history, demographics and where you are in relation to everyone else and myriad other things as well. Maps are cool.<\/p>\n<p>I came across this awesome map the other day that combines the whimsicalness of old maps and our penchant for connectivity and online-ness. Such embellishments largely disappeared in the early 1600s, pushing modern map design into a purely functional direction.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is a company that takes a relatively boring profession of supplying cables and markets it to the masses by appealing to wonder and amazement. They truly are impressive engineering feats. and its good to use old technologies to  try and illuminate where the world is now.
