I was all set to get out and about
\nInstead I sit here, nursing my my pout<\/p>\n

A day with no people, no contact no sound,
\nShe was intended to help center and to ground<\/p>\n

But no, she could not, no not at all
\nI felt like the maiden omitted from the ball<\/p>\n

It seems she had better, more fun, things to do
\nHer excuse was her sister, but I know that’s not true<\/p>\n

So here I sit, all freaked out and weird,
\nentertained only by the growth of my beard<\/p>\n

I guess I must smell or bore or displease
\nBut I won’t beg, won’t get down on MY knees<\/p>\n

Oh no, I am manly and stoic and proud
\nNot lonely, nor misty, not whiny, not cowed<\/p>\n

For I have my poetry, my glorious muse,
\nAnd you, well you…<\/p>\n

can read this, and suffer the abuse<\/p>\n
