On occasion of Remembrance Day and being pissed at white poppies<\/i><\/p>\n
It is just a Symbol<\/strong><\/p>\n I don’t remember I don’t remember I don’t remember But I remember that he once served It’s true I’ve always known But of the many skills There was no time, In here and now, all that remains And yet they have now become, To take second to And wish that you Remember That whether or not you knew them For the first time in history I find myself reluctant to share a poem or rhyme; indeed when I have ever been shy to share the nonsense that escapes my lips. I can see that the bones are there but it doesn’t do the idea, the raw purpose much justice. \nHis quiet stories
\nOr the caress of his father’s hand
\nI don’t remember
\nAlphabet lessons
\nOr our playing in the sand<\/p>\n
\nThe holidays
\nOr have memories of happy words
\nAnd I don’t remember
\nThe uniform
\nOr the shriek of iron birds<\/p>\n
\nHis touch, his smell,
\nThe nature of his tones.
\nAnd I never knew his reasons why
\nor the lessons that he learned<\/p>\n
\nwhatever his reasons why
\nAnd I’ve been taught that
\nhe took flight
\nand flew across the sky<\/p>\n
\nHe’d been there when I was oh so small
\nAnd whatever else that he may have missed
\nHe must have smiled to see me crawl<\/p>\n
\nhe had to share
\nmoments and emotions
\nand souls to bare<\/p>\n
\nno place, no song
\nHis few moments were
\ntoo swiftly gone<\/p>\n
\nIs history taught at nother’s knee
\nThe images and old stories
\npassed down, just history<\/p>\n
\nAnd are my reasons why
\nAs eleven eleven comes round again
\nI step aside from my conceits
\nand spare a glance for the sky<\/p>\n
\nNow that I’m grown
\nAnd think of things
\nThat I have never known.<\/p>\n
\nWherever your thoughts may dwell<\/p>\n
\nThey’re owed their silent, fare the well.<\/p>\n
